Truck Toll Serbia: Distance-Based Motorway Toll
Serbia is a central transit country on the corridor to Southeast Europe and Turkey. Tolls are distance-based on the motorway network – classic toll plazas, with TAG devices as an electronic option.
The toll system: Putevi Srbije
The operator is Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia). The system works with toll plazas (closed system) along the motorways. Charging is in Serbian dinars (RSD).
Which roads are tolled?
- Motorways – the entire motorway network
- Expressways (selected routes)
For transit traffic, corridors 10 (towards North Macedonia/Greece) and 11 (towards Montenegro) are most important.
Rate structure: axle count
The rate (RSD/km) depends on the axle count:
| Axles | Factor |
|---|---|
| 2 axles | 1.0 |
| 3 axles | 1.5 |
| 4 axles | 2.0 |
| 5+ axles | 2.5 |
The base rate on motorways is 7.5 RSD/km (approx. €0.07/km). A 40-tonne articulated lorry with 5 axles pays around 18.75 RSD/km (approx. €0.16/km) – Serbia is one of the cheaper toll countries in Europe.
